Nikšić: I will do everything to preserve the unity of the SDP

After the Main Board of the Social Democratic Party of Bosnia and Herzegovina, at its last session, adopted a Decision on holding elections for the president of the SDP BiH, members had seven days to express their intention to run, and today all six candidates were announced, writes the Patria news agency.

On this occasion, Nermin Nikšić, the president of the SDP, who also ran for this position, spoke out.

- As I announced, I submitted my candidacy for president of our party. In the past nine months, I have convinced myself that the SDP is truly one big family. 

In a difficult period for the party, a large number of members showed enormous responsibility and love for the idea that unites us.
This further strengthened my belief that it is worth and necessary to fight for the idea of the SDP.

I will do everything to preserve the unity of the party, to further strengthen it with new and young cadres, and to head towards victory in the upcoming elections after the congress in October. Thank you all for the support you have given me so far, and I wish all candidates good luck in the campaign. I would like and hope that we all enter the campaign with one common key goal, and that is an even better and stronger Social Democratic Party, as a party of all peoples and citizens of BiH, a party of all of us - Nikšić emphasized in his address to SDP members.
