Nikšić: Broad support for Bećirović is a sign that we have chosen a man for all citizens

SARAJEVO, (Patria) – 'Bosniak Movement' today supported SDP's candidate for the BiH Presidency, Denis Bećirović. The same support in the elections to be held in BiH in October was given to Bećirović by A-sda, several independent mayors, some Croatian intellectuals, as well as the Serb Civic Council.

“My goal is to unite Bosnia and Herzegovina,” Bećirović told reporters today in Sarajevo.

The president of SDP BiH, Nermin Nikšić, told the Patria agency that the broad support for Denis Bećirović's candidacy for the BiH Presidency from political parties, non-governmental organizations, intellectuals, and citizens from all parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina represents, as he said, a clear sign that he is a man who will work on preserving and prospering Bosnia and Herzegovina and the equality of all its citizens.

“I am pleased to see that the choice made by SDP members is also appreciated and supported by those who do not belong to the SDP or the left in the broadest sense,” said Nikšić, adding that this indicates that he is a person who is not only suited for the SDP but also for all citizens of BiH, regardless of their ideological beliefs.

“I believe that the time has finally come for as many Bosnians and Herzegovinians as possible to rally around the idea of progress and normal life and dialogue, as opposed to the ideas of division that are taking us back to the Middle Ages, and which the ruling parties have insisted on for the last 30 years,” said Nikšić.

He is fully convinced that by the time of the elections, both the SDP and Bećirović, as a candidate for the Presidency member, will gain even greater support from citizens, and that after October 7th, forces that wish well to Bosnia and Herzegovina and all its people will win in BiH.

He added that citizens want and deserve much better than, as he said, “what we have today,” and that the SDP will do everything to gain the trust of the citizens, as well as to justify that trust.
