Nikšić, Radončić and Komšić: Referendum is an assault on the integrity and sovereignty of BiH

The presidents of the Democratic Front, the Union for a Better Future and the Social Democratic Party of BiH, Željko Komšić, Fahrudin Radončić and Nermin Nikšić, following mutual consultations, gave a joint statement on the decision of the parliament of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian entity of the RS regarding the referendum on the Court and Prosecutor's Office of BiH, reports the Patria news agency.

-We consider the decision and any potential implementation of the referendum a fundamental violation of the Dayton Peace Agreement.

This decision is a direct violation of the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the agencies and institutions responsible for protecting the constitutional order and enforcing the law have an obligation to react and prevent its implementation.

Holding the referendum would be an assault on the integrity and sovereignty of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the institutions and bodies tasked with defending the integrity and sovereignty of the state will have an obligation to prevent their undermining.

We condemn the attempts by some political parties, primarily those gathered around Milorad Dodik, to resolve the economic crisis they caused through their crime and corruption by once again pitting the citizens of this country against each other.

We will fight most resolutely against the efforts of the SNSD and its coalition partners to incite violence solely for the purpose of preserving power.

We share the dissatisfaction with the work of part of the judicial system of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which often behaves as an instrument in the hands of one political party, but we will do everything to prevent Bosnia and Herzegovina from sliding into violence.

We will defend, as we have always done, a Bosnia and Herzegovina tailored to all its citizens, who want to live here in peace and prosperity.

We remain open to dialogue with those political factors that wish to build a peaceful future and a common life for all peoples and citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, states the press release signed by the presidents of the three parties.
