Nikšić: The Problem of Lack of Money in the FBiH Solidarity Fund Requires Urgent Resolution

(Patria) - The Federation Government has submitted a proposal for a budget rebalance to the parliamentary procedure under an urgent procedure, and on that occasion, Federal Prime Minister Nermin Nikšić addressed the public on social media.

"In this way, we want to alleviate the problem of the lack of money in the FBiH Solidarity Fund. This is a problem that requires urgent resolution because it concerns the financing of treatment for the most severe diseases, for people for whom every day of delay can be decisive.

Unfortunately, this is an issue that will not be resolved by such one-off actions, but on the other hand, it shows that we have recognized it and that, in agreement with representatives of those associations, we are on the trail of a systemic solution for next year. The Federation Government has sent an initiative to the Cantonal Governments and Cantonal Health Insurance Institutes, which have achieved a surplus, and invited them to join efforts in solving the problem of treating cancer patients and to secure part of the money needed for their treatment by the end of the year.

Additional reasons for the budget rebalance include aligning the budget with the adoption of amendments to the Law on the Basics of Social Protection, Protection of War Victims, the need for additional money in the implementation of the Law on Material Support for Families with Children in the FBiH, as well as the Decision on the extraordinary adjustment of pensions by 3.9%, which has been applied since May of this year," Nikšić said.
