Nikšić: The story of the unity of any nation is an introduction to further ethnic division of BiH

The interest of the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina is to have a stable government. As an opposition party, the SDP supports every political agreement that will result in the formation of a stable government, said the president of SDP BiH Nermin Nikšić in a statement to the Patria news agency.  

The moves of SDA and HDZ so far, Nikšić points out, have shown "how these two parties neither know nor have an interest in forming a stable government".

- This situation actually suits them perfectly, and they are not interested at all in the fact that the citizens of BiH suffer enormous damage because of it.

What we in the SDP will never agree to and accept as good political practice is the formation of government based on the mere aggregation of some national blocs.

The story of the unity of any nation, which should be represented as an agreement between two or more parties, is a very dangerous thesis that is nothing more than an introduction to further ethnic division of BiH. Such a policy actually supports those forces that have been trying to further weaken and divide BiH for years, emphasizes Nikšić.

The leader of the SDP reminds that the government in BiH, according to the Constitution and laws of this country, is formed on the principle of civic legitimacy, not national legitimacy.

-This is a constitutional fact that no political agreement can change. Anyone entering into such a story must be aware of the dangers that such a policy can bring to the stability of BiH, as a state of all its nations and citizens.

Therefore, we in the SDP hope that the election winners will at least form a stable government a year after the elections, but we will always be a bulwark against the policy of further divisions of BiH, Nikšić concludes.
