Nikšić visits the Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices of Bosnia and Herzegovina

(Patria) - President of the Social Democratic Party of Bosnia and Herzegovina Nermin Nikšić, together with the Minister of Health of Sarajevo Canton Haris Vranić, visited the Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices of Bosnia and Herzegovina, where they were hosted by Ramo Rustemović, president of the Agency's trade union.

During this visit, Nikšić and Vranić visited the Control Laboratory, where they could see firsthand the expertise of the Agency's work. The visit, initiated by SDP President Nikšić, is also significant because the Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices of Bosnia and Herzegovina was the first to be targeted by the secessionist intentions of Milorad Dodik, who, through decisions of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, hindered the normal functioning of this Agency.

"This is the Agency that was the first in the region to receive an EU certificate back in 2008, while their colleagues in Serbia and Croatia received it only four or five years later. The heart of the Agency is in Sarajevo. During my visit to the High Representative, I asked him to visit the Control Laboratory to familiarize himself with the real situation and advocate for the continuation of their uninterrupted work. I intend to continue supporting the Agency and will visit its headquarters in Banja Luka at the first opportunity," stated Nikšić.

According to Ramo Rustemović, this is the first visit by a high-ranking political official from Bosnia and Herzegovina to this Agency.

"For us, this visit is therefore even more important. While others beat their chests with patriotism and provisionally defend state institutions, the President of SDP BiH Nermin Nikšić has taken concrete steps to help us. It must not be forgotten that our work is very important for the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as it directly concerns their health," said Rustemović.

Minister of Health of Sarajevo Canton Haris Vranić promised during the visit that the ministry he leads will provide all legal assistance to overcome the imposed blockades in the Agency's work.
