Nikšić asks authorities: Do you know that Lukač formed a special investigative team against SDP officials?

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Nermin Nikšić, president of the SDP and representative in the House of Representatives of the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, submitted a parliamentary question this morning during the session of this House, which pertains to irregularities in the Federal Police Administration. Nikšić wrote to the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council (VSTV), the Office of the Disciplinary Prosecutor, the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Prosecutor's Office of the Sarajevo Canton, the Ministry of Interior of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (MUP FBiH), the Federal Police Administration, and the Independent Board of the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. 

- For some time now, I have been receiving information from various individuals about the illegal conduct of a portion of police officers from the Federal Police Administration, as well as prosecutors from the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The information provided to me comes from a large number of police officers and individuals who have held or currently hold various responsible positions. I advised all of them to inform the competent institutions and bodies about this information. However, according to the knowledge of those who dared to take such a step, reactions have so far been absent or have followed, but against them as people who dared to point out and oppose illegal actions.

In this regard, I wish to inform you in this manner and request your urgent reaction, verification of the stated allegations, and subsequently the taking of measures within your competence to prevent such behavior in the future – said Nikšić.

He requested that the veracity of the allegations and knowledge, which are already in the domain of a kind of open secret among employees of these institutions, be investigated.

- Are you aware that the Director of the Federal Police Administration, Dragan Lukač, formed a special investigative team directly and informally led by police officer Vehbija Numanović, which uses numerous illegalities to secure alleged evidence of criminal acts of individuals whose only fault is that, in this specific case, they belong to the Social Democratic Party or personally know people from the Social Democratic Party of Bosnia and Herzegovina?

- Are you aware that this investigative team, under the direct order of Dragan Lukač and Vehbija Numanović, completely illegally adds the telephone numbers of individuals from the SDP BiH, as well as individuals who have nothing to do with the SDP, so that they can be wiretapped within the framework of investigations and special investigative actions conducted by the Federal Police Administration, for example, in connection with cases of murders committed during the war period or some other cases? 

- Are you aware that the same things are being done against police officers who refuse to carry out such illegal orders and verbal instructions, after those same police officers are previously subjected to the strictest disciplinary punishment, degradation, and numerous other forms of mobbing and psychological abuse?

 - Are you aware that Dragan Lukač and Vehbija Numanović have met the conditions for retirement for years and are completely illegally still employed in the Federal Police Administration?

- Are you aware that, under the orders of this duo, police officers instruct individuals to give false statements, so that based on those statements, orders for further actions are sought from various prosecutors?

 - Are you aware that after the Prosecutor's Office of the Sarajevo Canton refused to participate in such actions, a prosecutor from the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina was included in that process?

- Are you aware that a number of individuals are summoned for hearings at the Federal Police Administration, where they are asked to sign pre-written statements that would incriminate individuals from the SDP BiH?

- This is only part of the knowledge and information conveyed to me by a large number of individuals who have no connection with each other, except that they have all become victims of this obvious crime orchestrated by the most responsible individuals in the Federal Police Administration and certain prosecutors.

I spoke about the abuse of police structures for settling scores with political opponents, including intra-party dissidents, at meetings of party leaders in the European Commission. Nevertheless, above all, I want to believe that we have the strength to fight these illegalities ourselves. That is why I have decided to request the intervention of BH institutions and I invite you to answer the submitted questions and, more importantly, to take the necessary measures ex officio, within your own competences, to stop this devastation of the rule of law – emphasized Nikšić.

 Finally, he emphasized that he is aware that there is a clear political background and political protection for the individuals involved in this.

- In this way, I want to contribute to breaking up these abuses and the unscrupulous politicization of police and prosecutorial institutions, which have taken on unacceptable forms that society must sanction in order to ensure the rule of law – added Nikšić.
