Nikšić: We are not prepared to sacrifice the BH bloc, decision on further negotiations on January 29

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Presidency of SDP BiH held a multi-hour session in Sarajevo today, which also discussed possible post-election coalitions and preparations for the session of the Main Board, which will be held on February 6. After the session, the president of SDP BiH, Nermin Nikšić, stated that SDP is not prepared to sacrifice the BH bloc and that it will not enter into a coalition with any national party on its own.

He stated that this party, Nikšić, is the strongest in the BH bloc, but that decisions are made without imposition, exclusively by consensus, and in the best interest of the country.

- We have made a series of conclusions, and on January 29, a meeting of the BH bloc will be held where we will make a final decision on whether we will form a coalition with ethno-national parties or not. We are not prepared to sacrifice the BH bloc for any coalition because it is the future of the political scene in BiH. The unity of the party and the BH bloc is very important to us, but this does not mean that someone imposes decisions, but that they are made by consensus. The decision on whether we stop all negotiations and remain in opposition or are prepared to continue talks will be made on January 29 - Nikšić emphasized.

Speaking about the situation in the Tuzla Canton, Nikšić pointed out that they tried to form a government with the civic bloc, but there will be no talks until January 29.

He stated that further decisions on forming a coalition with national parties will be made by the Main Board, or a membership referendum.

- We cannot tell people that we have won and that we no longer care, we must show citizens that we want to take responsibility. It's not all about whether we are with SDA or not.

If the BH bloc were to enter into negotiations to join the government, certain conditions would also be set, because their legitimacy for this is given by the election results, meaning they are the most numerous in the parliaments.
