Nikšić: Nationalist authorities are turning people against each other

Nermin Nikšić, president of the SDP BiH, said that for the SDP, the story about the revision of the BiH judgment against Serbia ended the moment they received assurances from the expert team that there is enough evidence to initiate the revision, reports the Patria news agency.

- The current nationalist authorities are now using this again to find a reason to homogenize their electorate, to turn one people against another or a third, without talking about the real life problems in BiH.

Nikšić said it would be better if the authorities dealt with issues such as whether there will be passports after the deadline, when investments will begin, where the development funds announced by the Council of Ministers are, what is happening with agricultural producers, and what about pensions.

- That is what should be focused on, and the issue of the revision will be resolved by the International Court of Justice in The Hague.

Nikšić said that in conversations with representatives of the international community, he often asks what the authorities have fulfilled from the reform agenda, to which he receives the answer that it is some small progress in the reform of labor legislation.

Asked whether Izetbegović should attend the session of the BiH Presidency today, he said:

- Everything should be resolved within institutions, and there is no reason to avoid it, even if every opportunity is used to avoid it while calling each other to order. Just as we filed a criminal complaint against Mr. Ivanić when he disrupted the chain of command and lined up the BiH Armed Forces, I think the same applies to their conduct of their duties and roles. When you violate the Constitution and someone files a complaint against you, you say that you are being persecuted by politicians of a certain people, and then you invoke the same Constitution when it suits you. The government works excellently in the distribution of functions, positions, interests, and the announcement of tenders – said Nikšić.
