Nikšić: Lukač's appointment was made at the dictate of the party-intelligence underground

Regarding today's decision by the Independent Board of the BiH Parliament confirming Dragan Lukač's election as Director of the Federal Police Administration for the next four years, the Prime Minister of the Federation of BiH, Nermin Nikšić, issued a press release, which states:

- The move by the members of the Independent Board is the culmination of the illegality that its members have been carrying out for several months. This is proof of how the system of party police, managed by corrupt individuals and tycoon-political lobbies, is being attempted to be maintained in the Federation of BiH, and whose sole task should be to deal with political opponents.

The Government of the Federation of BiH will use its legal options and request the competent judicial institutions to stop this obvious attempt at abuse and violence against the rule of law. The citizens of the Federation of BiH deserve a responsible and professional police force that will be engaged in detecting and preventing crime and corruption, not a police force that will operate at the dictate of the party-intelligence underground.

Unfortunately, such an important appointment, which is undoubtedly the appointment of the head of the Federal Police Administration, has thus, without any doubt, been called into question.

The burden of consciously violating the law and ignoring the clear conclusions of the Government of the FBiH, as well as the Security Committee of the House of Representatives, has fully exposed the behavior of the Independent Board, which obviously announced the competition only with the aim of appointing an already agreed-upon candidate, regardless of what it means for the grossest violation of the law and the downfall of the rule of law - says the reaction of the Prime Minister of the FBiH, Nermin Nikšić.
