Nikšić, Konaković and Forto respond to Vučić and Vučević: We want you to emerge from the current serious crisis more stable

(Patria) - Following the latest statements by the resigned Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia, Miloš Vučević, the Social Democratic Party of Bosnia and Herzegovina, People and Justice, and Our Party call on the authorities of the neighbouring country to stop interfering in the internal affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"Today's statements and qualifications by Vučević regarding the judicial system of Bosnia and Herzegovina are unacceptable and completely unfounded. The pressures that the political leadership of Serbia is trying to exert on the judiciary of Bosnia and Herzegovina represent a violation of the Dayton Agreement and an assault on the sovereignty of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The resigned Prime Minister of Serbia should know that Bosnia and Herzegovina is a sovereign state that has the tools to protect its legal order and public peace, no matter how much domestic officials and their helpers from Serbia try to destabilise and call them into question. Any testing of the readiness of the institutions of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina to protect the constitutional order, peace and laws of Bosnia and Herzegovina on its sovereign territory will prove to those who challenge our state that it is stable, strong and operational.

Any form or attempt to obstruct state bodies in the performance of their duties will be met with a decisive systemic response from the security, police and judicial systems, no matter how much various Vučevićs and Vučićs may dislike it.

Vučević's patronising talk about how he would supposedly behave in a state-building manner if he were a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina is merely a pathetic attempt to twist facts and hide the obvious attempt at interventionism in the internal affairs of this state.

It is nevertheless good to know what Vučević thinks he would do if he were a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina. However, he is not, and it is good that he at least understands that much. It is also good that he understands that Bosnia and Herzegovina is a state of its citizens. That is how, even unconsciously, he emphasised the fact that entities are not and never will be state-building.

Vučević's and Vučić's statements that they stand by the entity of Republika Srpska, while in Serbia they ban reporting on protests by tens and even hundreds of thousands of citizens of their state, young people they do not want to hear or see, let alone stand by them in their demands for justice, is at the very least hypocritical and tragicomic.

Let Vučić and Vučević deal with their own internal problems, and Bosnia and Herzegovina will emerge from this crisis as a winner, just as it has done in much more difficult circumstances than the current ones.

Although it is difficult to predict the development of the current situation in Serbia, we wish our neighbours to emerge from the current serious crisis more stable, calmer and more focused on a prosperous European future. That would be in the interest of the entire region, including Bosnia and Herzegovina. Only if we all deal with our own, rather than others' problems and internal circumstances, can we make strides towards a more stable, peaceful and prosperous future," state the parties of the troika that form the state government together with Milorad Dodik's SNSD and Dragan Čović's HDZ.
