Nikšić, Komšić and Bajrović: Referendum is not harmless, competent institutions should open an investigation

In Sarajevo today, at the Sunday session of the Association of Independent Intellectuals Krug 99, the presidents of the Social Democratic Party of BiH Nermin Nikšić, the Democratic Front Željko Komšić and the Civic Alliance Reuf Bajrović spoke, and a unified message was sent that the referendum on the Day of Republika Srpska, being held today in the smaller BiH entity, is not harmless, calling on the competent institutions to open an investigation against those responsible.

Nikšić emphasized in his address that their role today is to send a message to reduce tensions and stop the talk about consequences, because it is obvious that the referendum cannot produce legal consequences.

- It is possible that it will produce longer-term political consequences. The referendum is an act that directly humiliates the Constitution of BiH and threatens the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina - said Nikšić.

Željko Komšić called on the Prosecutor's Office of BiH to open an investigation, but also to do so in the case of all decisions of the Constitutional Court that have not been implemented.

- This is not at all harmless because Milorad Dodik, the president of RS and SNSD, has already announced a referendum on BiH's membership in the NATO alliance. Our only method is the institutions of BiH - said Komšić.

The topic of today's session of Krug 99 was "What is the alternative to the destruction of BiH?", and Reuf Bajrović noted that today's referendum is an attack on the Dayton Peace Agreement.
