Nikšić was late in introducing self-contribution for the affected

The Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina was late in introducing self-contribution to help those affected by the floods – Safudin Čengić, president of the Employers' Association of the Federation of BiH, told the Bosnian news agency Patria.

Namely, the Government of the Federation of BiH adopted a package of three laws four days ago to help those affected by the floods, which, as the news agency Patria learns, will very quickly activate financial aid, mostly from internal reserves, exceeding 200 million marks!

However, one of the three laws introduces a self-contribution from employees to help the affected. According to this solution, all employees, except those who declare they do not wish to participate, will give a portion of their money for aid. Budget users and employees in public companies and all firms and institutions linked to the authorities will set aside a daily allowance for six months, while other employees will contribute 1% of their salary.

- I expected that representatives of budget users and employees in public companies would be the first to react and make their contribution. But that did not happen - said Čengić.

- On the other hand, many companies organized themselves on their own initiative and allocated significant funds to help the flooded areas already in the first days of the disaster - he added.

He says he is aware of the situation that workers are in a difficult position, burdened by loans and not having the salaries they would all like to have, but the situation in the country is such that now everyone must show solidarity and help so that the problems in the country, caused by the floods and landslides that hit most of BiH in May, can be overcome as soon as possible, writes Patria.
