Nikšić: I sincerely hope this is the beginning of the end for Dodik and all those pursuing a policy of dismantling Bosnia and Herzegovina

Nermin Nikšić, president of the SDP, gave an interesting overview of the latest developments in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which the Patria news agency reports in full.

- At the funeral in Potočari, four days ago, they attacked the Prime Minister of Serbia. All relevant factors reacted, all institutions of the system. Rightly so. The day before yesterday, they attacked, tortured and brutally injured returnee Nerko Hanifić. For me, absolutely on par with the attack on the Prime Minister of Serbia. The silence of the system's institutions is concerning, and reactions from most of those who reacted when the attack on Prime Minister Vučić occurred have been absent.

The National Assembly of the RS adopted a proposal to organize a referendum on the judiciary at the state level and the powers of the High Representative, which goes beyond the jurisdiction of the National Assembly of the RS.
Although there are reactions from representatives of the international community, we will see how the institutions of the system, primarily the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, will react.

This is the most serious situation since Dayton to date, concerning the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the threat to its sovereignty and legal system. The creators of this chaos in the RS, led by Milorad Dodik, are very well aware of the fact that the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina has confirmed on several occasions in its decisions that the Court and the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina are institutions established in accordance with the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

It is a basic legal and civilizational principle that you do not have to like court decisions, you can comment on them, but at the same time we must all respect them. No political acrobatics, even of this referendum type, will call into question the decisions of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

There is no doubt that this arrogant attitude has been caused by the retreat from Dodik's policy over the last ten years, the leniency of representatives of the international community, but also of domestic politicians and political parties. Of course, I do not absolve us from the SDP either.

Obviously, this was not understood as an outstretched hand, but as weakness, which each time provoked new attacks and challenges to Bosnia and Herzegovina and its institutions.

Today, 45 deputies in the National Assembly of the RS, at Dodik's dictation, crossed the line. This is the line of defense of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina that must not be crossed. If the OHR does not react, then we have a serious problem. But even if it does react, I think all pro-Bosnian forces should unite to stop this. The referendum is playing with fire. I sincerely hope this is the beginning of the end for Milorad Dodik and all those pursuing a policy of dismantling Bosnia and Herzegovina.
