Nikšić and Magazinović meet with European Parliament member Khan

President of the Social Democratic Party of Bosnia and Herzegovina Nermin Nikšić and Secretary for International Cooperation of the SDP BiH Saša Magazinović today received Afzal Khan, a member of the European Parliament from the British Labour Party and shadow rapporteur in the European Parliament for BiH, the SDP announced, as reported by the Bosnian news agency Patria.

Nikšić and Magazinović thanked Khan for the participation of European parliamentarians from the group of European Social Democrats, which included members of the Labour Party, in the commemoration marking twenty years since the Srebrenica genocide, as well as for their ongoing interest and engagement regarding developments in our country. The meeting also discussed the current political situation in our country, and Khan was briefed on internal party developments within the SDP.

- SDP BiH, as before, supports all reform processes of our country on the path to European integration, and therefore we express great gratitude to the United Kingdom and Germany for initiating a new European approach to our country, which should accelerate BiH's path to the European Union. However, the current political situation in our country does not favor faster integration of BiH into the EU, because the ruling parties are unable, despite strong support from the EU, to agree on the Reform Agenda, and it is particularly concerning that this agenda has not yet been presented to the public, nor to the representatives of parliaments in BiH - Nikšić emphasized.

At the meeting, Khan once again expressed strong support from the British Labour Party for the work of the SDP BiH and reiterated that he will continue to assist the process of our country's integration into the European Union in the European Parliament.
