Nikšić and Kurti Discussed Improving Trade and Economic Cooperation

(Patria) - Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Nermin Nikšić met today at the seat of the Federal Government in Sarajevo with the Prime Minister of Kosovo Albin Kurti. The focus of this meeting was improving trade and economic cooperation.

Prime Minister Nikšić thanked him for the visit and recalled the importance of the unilateral decision by the Government of Kosovo to abolish the visa regime for citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which will be implemented from the beginning of 2025 and will significantly facilitate the business of our companies and contribute to the improvement of economic cooperation.

In addition, the abolition of the visa regime will facilitate the movement of people and goods, and along with trade exchange, it will also enable cooperation in the fields of education and culture, especially for students and artists.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Nikšić emphasized the commitment of the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina to establish the necessary conditions that will enable the improvement of business and cooperation among entrepreneurs, all with the aim of creating better conditions for citizens. Pointing out the importance of creating these conditions, Prime Minister Nikšić highlighted the effect of the recently organized economic forums in Hungary, in which a delegation of over 30 Bosnian and Herzegovinian entrepreneurs participated, and who, in two days, arranged significant cooperation in various fields.

The interlocutors assessed that there is a mutual need to strengthen trade and economic cooperation, especially considering the proximity of markets in the region and the existing interest of companies, and expressed full commitment to its improvement. Cooperation of the academic community, as well as cooperation between students and artists, was also assessed as important, which will be significantly facilitated by the abolition of the visa regime from next year.
