Nikšić and Jusufović visit Field Office in Brčko with OSA leadership

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Nermin Nikšić, Chairperson of the Joint Commission for Oversight of the Intelligence-Security Agency of BiH, and Commission member Munib Jusufović met today at the Regional Office of the Intelligence-Security Agency of BiH (OSA/OBA BiH) in Brčko District with the Director General of OSA/OBA BiH Osman Mehmedagić, Deputy Director General of OSA/OBA BiH Trifko Buha, and Head of the Field Office OSA/OBA BiH - Brčko Zoran Tadić.

Members of the Joint Commission for Oversight of the Intelligence-Security Agency of BiH discussed activities for this year and plans for the next year with the Agency's leadership.

"This is the first in a series of field offices we have visited. It is very important for such an institution to function here in Brčko District. This is one of the points where it is very important to show the existence of state institutions because Brčko District is under the direct jurisdiction of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina. I must say that I am satisfied with what I have heard from the people, and certainly, what we need to influence is to show the citizens of Brčko District and Bosnia and Herzegovina that we are actually doing our best to normalize relations in BiH, to lower political tensions, and to return all discussions about decision-making to the institutions of the system," said Nikšić after the meeting.

It was emphasized once again at the meeting that such visits to bodies and institutions that fall under the Commission's jurisdiction by the nature of their activities are an important element of effective parliamentary oversight.

Nikšić and Jusufović became directly acquainted with the concrete work of the employees of the Intelligence-Security Agency of BiH on the ground and assessed the real situation on the ground from the perspective of the jurisdiction of the Joint Commission for Oversight of the Intelligence-Security Agency of BiH.

The Joint Commission for Oversight of the Intelligence-Security Agency of BiH and the Agency's leadership assessed such visits as very useful. The visit was organized in accordance with the Annual Plan of Activities of the Joint Commission for Oversight of OSA BiH.
