Nikšić: Dodik and Izetbegović always find topics around which they seemingly quarrel

Bakir Izetbegović, president of the SDA, devoted almost his entire address at the SDA's New Year's press conference to comparing progress in the FBiH and the RS, and frequently mentioned Milorad Dodik, president of the RS, writes the Patria news agency.

Some have assessed this as tossing the ball to Dodik, who will return it even more sharply to Izetbegović, and a seemingly quarrel between them will arise again.

Nermin Nikšić, leader of the SDP, pointed out that they have been constantly pointing this out to the citizens of BiH year after year, and that we are witnessing the artificial creation of opposing blocs and the finding of a topic around which they seemingly quarrel.

- And that strengthens the position of one, the other, and the third leader among their peoples. I sincerely hope that citizens will not fall for their story. Izetbegović gave Dodik something that he said he could not even dream of getting when it comes to the Coordination Mechanism. Along the way, they agreed on borrowing from the IMF, and interestingly, it did not occur to them to talk about the referendum in the RS at that meeting, but when Dodik headed towards Banja Luka, then Izetbegović remembered that they could also talk about that. I hope that citizens will no longer fall for the same trick, just as no citizen of the RS is better off after holding the referendum, and those who are the current authorities in the RS know best that it did not even succeed – Nikšić pointed out.

Journalists asked the SDP president whether he thinks the coalition SDA - HDZ - SBB will survive.

- When it comes to the interests of the SDA and HDZ, they will certainly survive, as was shown when they just formed the government, when they divided spheres of interest, positions, money. It is obvious that the SDA is suffocating its partner SBB. How long that will last, we will see. It is obvious that messages have been coming from the SBB recently that they are not exactly ready to sacrifice themselves for the interests of the SDA - said Nikšić.
