Nikšić congratulates Ivanić and all citizens on BiH Independence Day

President of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Nermin Nikšić, sent a congratulatory message to the Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr. Mladen Ivanić, and all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the occasion of March 1 - BiH Independence Day, the SDP BiH announced, Patria reports.  

This year marks a quarter of a century since the historic decision of all peoples and citizens of BiH who, by free will, decided in a democratic referendum that Bosnia and Herzegovina, as a state of citizens, equal Serbs, Muslims and Croats, and members of other nations, should be an independent and sovereign state.

Along with November 25 and ZAVNOBiH, this date and this event will remain permanently inscribed in the history of BiH as the supreme democratic achievement of all its citizens.

The ideals of freedom, equality and brotherhood, which guided the citizens of BiH through the turbulent history of this country, have never left its people.

It is the obligation of all of us to persevere in building a country that will be organized on these principles. Regardless of what anyone says about it, all of us in BiH have no other homeland. This is the state of all of us and there is room for all of us in it.

Therefore, I congratulate you on this holiday with the wish that the time to come be marked by progress and prosperity for all peoples and citizens of BiH, because they deserve it.
