Nikšić: If Dodik conditions with the BiH Constitutional Court, then there are no more talks

(Patria) - "I believe it would be more expedient, better for everyone in Bosnia and Herzegovina, if we sat down, agreed, and passed a law on state property in accordance with the decisions of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina", said the Prime Minister of the Federation of BiH and leader of the Social Democratic Party of BiH, Nermin Nikšić, in an interview with "Jedan".

Nikšić adds that what the OHR has done so far in preparing the law shows that the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina are being taken into account.

"Conditioning is not a way, nor a manner, in which issues of the Constitutional Court and state property can be resolved. If SNSD makes it a condition, fine, there are no further talks", says Nikšić.

He points out that the Trojka was clear and precise, and agreed to the formation of a working group at the level of the Council of Ministers that should work on preparing a new law on the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"That law must be in line with European standards. It is out of the question, as far as SDP BiH is concerned, and I am sure the Trojka, to agree to decisions being made on a national basis in the Constitutional Court. It is completely clear to us that when we reach the point of fulfilling the conditions on the path to the European Union, we cannot be a member if we have foreign judges in the Constitutional Court. However, that is a long process, and when we get there, we will see", explains Nikšić.

The president of SDP BiH reiterates that the Trojka has shown so far that it is not susceptible to blackmail and conditions. What they are doing, he says, is seeking solutions through dialogue and certain compromises.

"The alternative to dialogue and compromises is the blockade of everything in the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, maintaining the status quo, and I believe that such a situation would only benefit those who do not love this country, who want to show that Bosnia and Herzegovina as a state is not possible", states Nikšić.

Responding to accusations that the Trojka is talking with partners from Republika Srpska at a time when constant threats and almost wartime rhetoric are coming from that entity, Nermin Nikšić replies that this is not something new.

"As soon as something is not right, we have talk about a referendum, secession, attacks on the constitutional order, attacks on the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina. That is something we have latently on the political scene, but recently, despite that, we have managed to move some things forward", says, among other things, the Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and leader of the Social Democratic Party of BiH, Nermin Nikšić, in an interview with "Jedan".

The interview will be broadcast tonight from 8 PM.
