Nikolić: Dodik is being overthrown in the same way Milošević was

Serbian President Tomislav Nikolić stated that he has been informed of a plan to overthrow the current government in Republika Srpska by targeting President Milorad Dodik, reports the Patria News Agency.

Tomislav Nikolić assesses that this is a personalization of the problem, similar to the case of Slobodan Milošević at the time.

"To a large extent, unfortunately, what was used in the confrontation with Serbia in the case of Slobodan Milošević is happening – the problem is personalized, so they say: everything will be fine if Dodik leaves, and nothing will be good," said President Nikolić in an interview for RTRS last night.

Nikolić said that Serbia's attention is focused on Republika Srpska without any desire to quarrel with those who are "not that entity".

He learned about the attempts, as he put it, to destroy Republika Srpska through conversations with foreign diplomats, warning that the endangerment of Republika Srpska is significant.

"The interest, fate, and survival of Republika Srpska must be more important than anything else, regardless of who is in power," said the Serbian President.

Nikolić said that diplomats openly told him that something is happening and that there is a tendency to present Republika Srpska with a fait accompli – to accept absolutely everything that is suggested to it, or its competencies will continue to be reduced with the participation of the Constitutional Court of BiH.

The Serbian President warns that nothing will be as it should be if the opposition political bloc does not realize that the endangerment of Republika Srpska is significant.

"Directives for the overthrow of RS come from the international community, and they are implemented from the Federation of BiH," said Nikolić.

Nikolić assessed that relations with Bosniak politicians in BiH are changeable, emphasizing that the Bosniak member of the Presidency of BiH, Bakir Izetbegović, is never on good terms with him and Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić simultaneously.

"Now he is calling me, while entering into conflict with Vučić. We are one team, and no one can play games with us," said Nikolić.

He added that he accepted the invitation to visit Sarajevo and that the date of the visit is yet to be arranged.
