Nikola Prce bids farewell to the national team jersey

The Bosnia and Herzegovina handball team ended its European Championship campaign with a 28:24 defeat against Spain, and Nikola Prce wore the Dragons' jersey for the last time in his career.

After the match, Prce told the media that it didn't feel like it was the last game, but it was.

"I'm sorry we didn't end the championship with a win, even though we were very close; we fell short in the end. This was my last match in the jersey of the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team. I think it was really enough. For me, the best possible way to say goodbye would have been if we had won, but even like this we can be satisfied. Congratulations to Spain," said Prce.

Prce pointed out that his favorite moment in his career was going to the World Cup in Qatar.

"For me, it's going to Qatar. The first major championship and that match against Iceland. The first time is always the sweetest, and the hardest moment for me was the defeat against Hungary in a packed Skenderija. I'm a bit sorry that the European Championship started like this and ended like this. There were a lot of influences that affected the team. Thank you to our fans, and I hope that the young players will continue to delight us," added Prce.

Fans would like to see Nikola in some role within the Handball Federation.

"I would like to be the president of the country, but we'll see. That's a question for some future, near time, and maybe it will never come up, I really don't know," said Prce with a smile.
