Since Milorad Dodik came to power, the Security Committee of the National Assembly of the RS has never received a single requested piece of information about wiretapping or what equipment the RS MUP has at its disposal, writes the news agency Patria.
Although this body, as part of the legislative branch, has authority over the executive, all essential information has been blocked.
It was precisely because of these obstructions that the leader of the NDP, Dragan Čavić, left the previous convocation of the Committee, claiming at the time that the RS MUP was wiretapping journalists and opposition politicians in order to keep everything under control.
Čavić requested information about equipment and wiretapping but did not receive it.
Milanko Mihajlica, the chairman of the current Security Committee, at the last session of this body again requested the same as Čavić, but the committee members from the SNSD outvoted him.
Thus, in the RS, no one except Dodik and his people has information about whom the MUP is wiretapping and why, a situation that has persisted since 2006.
