Nikić: SDA, HDZ BiH and DF Got the Chance to Fulfill Their Promises

With the final agreement of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA), the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ BiH) and the Democratic Front of Željko Komšić (DF), i.e. the division of portfolios in the Government of the Federation of BiH, the months-long saga of forming the government in Bosnia and Herzegovina has ended.

Spokesperson of HDZ 1990 Pero Nikić said in an interview with the Patria news agency that this outcome, more clearly than ever before, crystallizes the role of the ruling party and the opposition, because these three parties form the majority - from the collective Presidency of BiH through the Council of Ministers of BiH and the Government of the Federation of BiH, down to the largest number of governments in the cantons of the Federation of BiH, as well as the largest number of mayoral positions and municipal councilors.

This outcome, Nikić believes, creates all the necessary preconditions for the realization of all pre-election goals and promises of HDZ BiH, SDA and DF before the October elections last year.

Asked by a Patria journalist what the role of HDZ 1990 will be in the further functioning of the government in the Federation of BiH, Nikić said that HDZ 1990 will adhere to its previously known positions, i.e. that it will be a very constructive opposition.

- I especially want to emphasize that HDZ 1990 will not follow the established political patterns of destructive actions and blockades. The ruling majority will have our support in its constructive and positive actions, but also a loud opposition voice if, possibly, things do not go in the right direction – says Nikić.

He believes it is good that the majority of other opposition parties have also accepted a constructive form of action. This will fully enable a stable political situation and the realization of all pre-election goals and promises of SDA, HDZ BiH and DF.

And, as a reminder, says Nikić, these are the promised 100,000 new jobs, constitutional reforms, protection of collective rights through changes to the election law, federalization of the state, the right to a TV channel, stopping the exodus, as well as protection of individual rights through the implementation of the Sejdić-Finci ruling...

There are also Euro-Atlantic integrations, improvement of the standard of living and introduction of fairer social protection measures for mothers, veterans, pensioners, etc.

- We wish them successful work and the implementation of all set goals. Once again, I want to say that the leading parties will have the support of HDZ 1990, but also a loud opposition voice if the aforementioned goals are not realized – concluded Nikić, Patria reports.
