Not even the death of a woman in Sarajevo is enough for the KS Government to react: Šteta is silent about the collapse, Katica praises the police, Uk dragged the shovel

Today in Sarajevo was marked by the death of a woman on whom a tree fell this morning in the Grbavica settlement. But even that tragedy was not enough for the Government of Sarajevo Canton to wake up and offer some explanation to the citizens about what has been happening for the last two days, even though the precipitation had been announced days in advance.

The official Facebook profile of the KS Government today shares posts from KJKP Park and KJKP Rad, while the streets of Sarajevo remain uncleaned, and material damage has been recorded after trees were felled in some other settlements.

Public transport has been operating with difficulties since Sunday. Tram traffic was suspended, and due to a new tram derailing in Ilidža, on the first working day of this week, only old trams ran from Nedžarići to Baščaršija. In the late afternoon, citizens were informed that tram traffic had normalized without explanation of what happened to the new trams.

None of this was enough for the KS Government to issue an official statement and call on the companies it owns to react more adequately, especially since new precipitation and freezing rain have been announced. And while it is clear that the KS Government is only learning today that KJKP Rad does not have enough machinery, it should be reminded that this company has had as many as three directors in the past year because SDP and NIP could not agree on who would lead the company. And now the company is led by a communication specialist.

Instead, we have sporadic posts from individual ministers and Prime Minister Uk. There is no sign of the Minister of Transport Adnan Šteta due to the traffic collapse and the derailing of the trams he procured.

The Minister of Internal Affairs Admir Katica posted photos to show how Sarajevo police officers are at the service of citizens to help them cross the road or push a car. And that is commendable, but it would be far more necessary for them to increase their presence during the night hours when people drive recklessly, endangering citizens and road users on the streets of Sarajevo.

And as the working day approached its end, Prime Minister Uk "rolled up his sleeves". As he boasted on social media, he cleared snow in front of four entrances in 10 minutes. But given that a picture is worth a thousand words, judge for yourself whether Uk actually shoveled or just dragged the shovel in one direction.

And since he was so prompt, he could have also visited the streets in the municipality of Novi Grad and helped to clear the sidewalks faster and ensure accessibility for citizens who have been jumping like commandos through potholes in the snow since this morning.

The fact that the situation is also the most difficult in Novi Grad is shown by the statement of the mayor Semir Efendić, who confirmed that all six machines of KJKP Rad intended for Novi Grad broke down, so the engagement of machinery from private companies was requested at the request of the municipality of Novi Grad.

Only in the afternoon did the cleaning of sidewalks, side streets, and parking lots begin.

Although it is the most populous municipality, this was not enough for them to be prioritized in cleaning. Coincidence, isn't it?

And while the parties of the Trojka often justify themselves by saying that they have not "communicated" enough in public about what they are doing and how they are improving citizens' lives, perhaps it is better for them to remain silent from today until the end of their term. Advisors and communication specialists are useless when you have no idea what responsibility towards citizens and the positions you have taken means.
