Ignorance and incompetence breed corruption

The key problem of this country is the ignorance and incompetence of those who are its political leaders. Many of them do not know where they are going or where they are headed, yet they lead the country. Like that story about the leader followed by the people. At the precipice, it turned out the leader was blind.

It looks bad when our political leaders do not know the system, the Constitution, and the laws. 

It is a terrible ignorance when national political buffoons say that Republika Srpska has "suspended cooperation" with Bosnia and Herzegovina. Talking about cooperation between an entity and the state is terrible ignorance. It sounds as if we have some kind of bilateral cooperation within our own country. Dozens and dozens of state institutions operate in Bosnia and Herzegovina, its constitutions and laws are harmonized, and systemic obligations prevail, not cooperation.

Desolation and empty funds remain

Parties have done everything to ensure negative selection of staff. Party leaders say that ministers do not need to know, but only have organizational skills. Therefore, we have a significant number of incompetent people who need to organize something they know little or nothing about. There is a criminal offense in the law called "abuse of official position." It looks terrible when poorly educated, semi-literate, primitive, and mediocre people in all respects take positions where they will leave behind desolation, a destroyed system, and empty funds.

A person who is able to take a position without any decent qualifications for it is already an "abuse of official position." They will only practically confirm this abuse of position once they enter power. Incompetence and ignorance always keep these people on the edge of crime or easily push them into corruption and every kind of law violation.           

The higher the level of ignorance, the deeper our decline. That is why we are increasingly patients and less consumers of politics. For example, when expert governments are mentioned to our leaders, they immediately declare them impossible. Politics has become a nest of mediocrity. If independent experts cannot do it, why don't parties engage those same experts in their name?  

Even dry politics is too serious a job for the incompetent to meddle in. The problem is that political ignorance and incompetence can be skillfully concealed. An example of this is the Bosniak political elite, which does not stop nodding its head, which gives in to blackmail and agrees to everything. This is done by people who most often lack the inventiveness and knowledge for real solutions. It is a lie to say that political wisdom is to retreat from problems and go the path of least resistance. Where there are no political principles, there is no politics. There is only a struggle for power.

Power as a service in the service of citizens

In that struggle for power, national - collective rights are only important until the elections are over. Then, cadres who were irreconcilable parties yesterday come onto the scene, whose only commonality is ignorance. Their individual interests soon become common, and collective conflicts become aimless and staged for the naive. In such relationships, corruption is born, laws are broken, theft and grabbing around hard-earned budgets at all levels prevail. 

Ordinary human honesty is forgotten. Parties have turned that honesty into some kind of issue of party responsibility. If human values were primary, power would be a job like any other: a public service in the service of citizens. Honesty and knowledge are not a party issue, but a moral quality of a human being. Today, we can ask: Where has morality disappeared from politics? Find it however you can. Today, it is the only means that can save politics.
