Unhealthy air in Sarajevo and Zenica, reduce time outdoors

SARAJEVO, (Patria)  - According to measurements at 7 p.m., the air quality index in Sarajevo is 181 and is unhealthy. The PM10 particle value is high at 134. The most polluted air was measured near the City Hall and in Otoka, while the air is also poor and unhealthy in Bjelave and Ilidža.  

"Possible occurrence of intensified symptoms and disease severity in people with heart and respiratory diseases, such as asthma. All others may begin to feel the negative impact of pollution on health. The following groups should reduce any outdoor physical activities: lung and heart patients, pregnant women, children, and the elderly. Prolonged or greater exertion during time outdoors should also be avoided by everyone else," states the Ekoakcija website. 

The air in Tuzla is unhealthy for sensitive groups, with an index of 132, and the PM2.5 particle value is 52. 

In Zenica, the air is unhealthy with an air quality index of 174. The PM10 particle value in the air is 120.
