
SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The air quality index in Sarajevo is 201, making it very unhealthy.
"For people with respiratory illnesses such as asthma, significant exacerbation of symptoms and intensity of the disease is possible. Increased probability of negative consequences for the respiratory organs of the entire population! Those suffering from lung and heart diseases, pregnant women, children and the elderly must avoid any activities while outdoors. And everyone else should avoid prolonged or strenuous exertion while outdoors!", according to the recommendation of Eco Action on the air quality monitoring website.
The air is not polluted only in Sarajevo.
It is unhealthy in Tuzla, Zenica, Lukavac, Ilijaš, Visoko and Prijedor.
In case of unhealthy air, Eco Action states: "Possible exacerbation of symptoms and intensity of diseases in people with heart and respiratory diseases, such as asthma. Everyone else could begin to feel the negative impact of pollution on their health. The following groups should reduce any outdoor physical activity: people with lung and heart diseases, pregnant women, children and the elderly. Prolonged or strenuous exertion outdoors should also be avoided by everyone else.".
In Jajce, the air is unhealthy for sensitive groups, and in Goražde, it is moderately polluted.
