Independent Board's mandate expired, yet they appointed Lukač as FUP Director

The Independent Board of the FBiH Parliament, whose mandate has expired and whose president Sead Selman is in a conflict of interest according to the new Law on Internal Affairs of FBiH (which entered into force on October 11, 2014), today appointed Dragan Lukač as the Director of the Federal Police Administration, writes the BH News Agency Patria.

Despite the recommendation of the Security Commission of the FBiH Parliament that the election of the FUP Director should be conducted according to the new Law on Internal Affairs and the proposal of the FBiH Government to annul the competition and conduct it according to the new law, the Independent Board disregarded this and had previously announced Lukač's appointment as FUP Director.

As stated by Midhat Karović, President of the Security Commission of the FBiH Parliament, they have done their part, and according to the new Law, the Independent Board must align its rules of procedure with the working bodies of the Commission and the Legislative-Legal Commission.

- In this case, there will likely be a court outcome - Karović said.

The decision of the Independent Board will be sent to the FBiH Parliament for processing.
