Independent Board Considers Mektić's Initiative to Dismiss Vilić

At today's session of the Independent Board of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the initiative of BiH Security Minister Dragan Mektić to dismiss the director of the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of BiH, Mirsad Vilić, is being considered, reports a reporter from the Patria news agency.

Mektić requested in August last year that the Independent Board dismiss Vilić, following the attack on Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić during the commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the Srebrenica genocide.

For the record, the Independent Board received a letter from the BiH Prosecutor's Office informing it that no investigative proceedings are being conducted against Vilić.

The agenda of today's session also subsequently included consideration of information from SIPA regarding the break-in at the editorial office of "Dnevni avaz" on January 25 this year.
