Independent Board at a Dead End: Zubac Must Be Removed Tomorrow

Tomorrow, a session of the Independent Board of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH will be held in Sarajevo, where, after two previous unsuccessful attempts, Goran Zubac, director of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), is expected to be suspended, writes the Patria news agency.

The members of the Independent Board have one more reason for such a decision: the Deputy Minister of Security of BiH, Mladen Ćavar, today issued a decision denying Goran Zubac access to classified information until the conclusion of the court proceedings against him.

In practice, this means that Zubac cannot perform his job at all, but Ćavar did not wish to comment on this for now, stating in a statement to NAP that he has done his part.

- I have forwarded this information to the Independent Board and the Prosecutor's Office of BiH, as well as to the SIPA employee responsible for working with classified information. I cannot comment on anything else, let everyone do their job – said Ćavar.

It is known from before that the competent prosecutor Miroslav Marković informed the Independent Board on February 20, and the Deputy Director of SIPA on February 25, that an order to conduct an investigation against Zubac was issued on February 20 due to reasonable suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of dereliction of duty in service, but no reaction followed.
