Unemployed father of four found and returned 40,000 euros

Antun Tunja Dizdar and his son Kristijan from Antunovac, driving home from Osijek on the highway, found a bag. At first, they thought it contained school books, but then they saw a pile of money, reports the Patria News Agency.

Along with the money (it later turned out to be 300,000 kuna, or 40,000 euros), the owner's personal documents were also found.

The finders established contact with the owner of the bag, V.Z. from Ježevo, via the internet and soon returned the bag to him.

Interestingly, the honest Antun is a war volunteer who has not yet managed to claim his pension, despite being wounded in 1991. He is a father of four children and has been unemployed for eight years.

Two weeks ago, he had surgery for a blood clot in his brain and is still recovering from the operation. Although it is not easy for him, he said that he did not even consider keeping the money at any point.
