Unstable until the end of the week across the country, better weather only for the weekend

In the next three days (Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday), the weather will be partly sunny and relatively stable. In the eastern half of the country, primarily in the central, eastern, and higher southeastern parts, local and short-lived showers with thunder are possible.

Starting from Thursday, a new cooling is expected, and temperatures could drop again to values resembling the first decade of October.

A frontal disturbance from Western Europe will move across the Mediterranean towards our region during Wednesday, and will enter the Croatian Adriatic coast around Thursday. In the first part of the day, strong and stormy, often hurricane-force, bora winds with gusts above 120 km/h are expected in specific locations below Velebit (Krk, Maslenica Bridge, Senj), while moderate southerly winds will continue in the southern Adriatic and Herzegovina, and in the afternoon, a transiently strong bora will also blow here.

The mentioned frontal disturbance, rich in oceanic fresh air, will cause a new, more pronounced cooling. In the morning, it will pass over the northern and northwestern parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and in the afternoon, over the rest of the country, bringing cloudiness accompanied by showers, strengthened northerly and northwesterly winds, and a drop in temperature.

Fortunately, there will not be much precipitation this time. However, as we are in the warmer part of the year when precipitation is usually extremely unevenly distributed, locally larger amounts of precipitation may fall in the central, northwestern, and southern parts of the country, but these amounts should not exceed 20 liters of rain per square meter. Given that there will be no significant heat in these three days, we should not expect any strong or pronounced thunderstorms. The ridge of an anticyclone from Western Europe will strengthen on Thursday evening and extend its arm towards the Balkans, and the frontal system will very quickly leave our region and move eastward. By Friday morning, clearing will occur in the northwest, and in the afternoon, in the far east, so the weekend will be exceptionally nice, but not too warm.

To make it clearer for readers, the weather in the next two days will be predominantly sunny and quite warm with daily cloud development, and rare and short-lived local showers are expected in the eastern half of the country, primarily in the central and eastern parts, as well as locally in the higher areas of southeastern Bosnia. The wind will be weak westerly and southwesterly, and morning temperatures will range from 12 to 17 degrees Celsius, in Herzegovina from 18 to 23 degrees. The highest daily temperatures will be from 25 to 30 degrees, and in Herzegovina from 30 to 34 degrees Celsius.

On Thursday, morning temperatures will be from 12 to 17 degrees, in the south from 17 to 23 degrees. The highest daily temperatures will be five to ten degrees lower than on Wednesday, ranging from 16 to 22 degrees, and in Herzegovina from 21 to 26 degrees.

Friday will bring clearing in the first part of the day to the northwestern and western regions, and in the afternoon to the rest of our country, which will be an overture to a stable and beautiful weekend ahead. Moderate northerly winds will blow intermittently and will weaken by the end of the day. Morning temperatures will be from 8 to 13 degrees, in the south from 15 to 20 degrees. The highest daily temperatures will be from 17 to 23 degrees, and in Herzegovina from 22 to 27 degrees.
