Nešić responds to Schmidt: The job of the security minister is to act in accordance with the country's laws, not the will of any migrant

(Patria) - “The job of the security minister is to create legal prerequisites that ensure the safety of its citizens, as well as foreigners who reside here in accordance with legal regulations.

The job of the security minister is also to manage and handle the migrant crisis so that it does not jeopardise the country's security, and especially to stop the entry of illegal migrants. The law applies equally to illegal migrants from Syria, Afghanistan, Iraq and Germany”.

This was stated by Security Minister Nenad Nešić, commenting on Christian Schmidt's statement that he should also take care of his safety and that ''he should stop playing games and do his job''.

Given that Christian Schmidt has not succeeded in presenting the UN Security Council resolution and proving that he is here in accordance with Annex 10 of the Dayton Peace Agreement, he adds, the laws of this country apply to Schmidt as they do to all other foreigners.

''The job of the security minister is to demand compliance with the Law on Foreigners and the Law on
Residence and Stay. If Christian Schmidt does not feel safe in Germany, he can always contact us and request asylum. His request will be considered, and I believe that his asylum will be granted if he accepts to respect the laws of this country. Of course, the competent agencies must also assess whether he poses a threat to the security of BiH'', Nešić stated.

Once again, he tells Schmidt that the job of the security minister is to act in accordance with the country's laws, not the will of any migrant.

''Imagine what would happen if every illegal migrant wished to be a self-proclaimed ruler here. Before the law, all migrants are equal, regardless of whether they are from the East or the West'', Nešić concludes.
