(Patria) - In response to the European Commission's Report on Bosnia and Herzegovina's fulfillment of conditions for the start of negotiations with the European Union, the National European Alliance (NES) BiH has called on the ruling coalition to stop deceiving the public.
"The ruling coalition that forms the government at the state level of Bosnia and Herzegovina has claimed daily that they are fulfilling the conditions for our country's accession to the European Union, i.e., for the opening of membership negotiations with that organization.
Very often, they cited the swift appointment of members of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the adoption of the Budget of the Institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina as key successes. They also tried to convince us that they are conducting open dialogue and that they are resolving, and will resolve, the issues of our country's citizens. However, these were just sweet talk.
The European Commission's report confirms this, stating that Bosnia and Herzegovina has not met the conditions for the start of negotiations with the European Union and that our country has regressed in terms of the rule of law and democratic principles. However, other officials believed that the EC could be accused of double standards if it opened accession negotiations with Ukraine, but not with BiH," they state.
NES states that not only has there been no progress, but Bosnia and Herzegovina has regressed in the rule of law. Furthermore, the European Commission's report stated, "we note that Republika Srpska has adopted a series of unconstitutional laws".
"Therefore, we tell the 'Trojka' to stop deceiving the public. Nothing that they promised to citizens has been fulfilled. Only regression is noticeable. Their coalition partners are adopting unconstitutional laws and insisting on adopting new ones that would weaken both the state and state institutions. Instead of passing a law establishing the Supreme Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, they present the court's seat as the main problem in negotiations on this issue. And they want everything else to remain the same, even to reduce the jurisdiction of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Instead of insisting on the full implementation of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina's ruling on constitutionality, and the implementation of the provisions of the Constitutions of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Republika Srpska on the proportional representation of constituent peoples in public institutions of the entities, they offer us the implementation of the 'Ljubić' ruling, which has been implemented, as confirmed by the High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina, and ensuring so-called legitimate representation as a priority.
Instead of passing a law on the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council that will ensure the efficiency of the judiciary, and thus a greater degree of judicial protection for our citizens, they are adopting unenforceable amendments to the law, about which the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina has also made a statement.
You can fool some people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time," the NES statement reads.
