Cooperation of the Left in BiH and the Region is Necessary

The President of the Main Board and political director of SDP BiH, Saša Magazinović and Damir Mašić participated in the annual assembly of the Party of European Socialists (PES), it was announced from SDP BiH, reports Patria.

The focus of this annual session was particularly on the crisis that is evidently shaking the European Union, and which has been further intensified by the decision of the citizens of Great Britain to withdraw. The response of European social democrats is based on a return to social democratic values with an emphasis on much more solidarity, the lack of which is evident in all parts of the world, including Europe.

The position of young people was particularly emphasized in terms of increased budget allocations for education and employment in EU member states, as well as in countries that wish to become full members. We remind you that SDP recently participated in a large PES campaign that promoted increased budget allocations for the education and employment of young people.

During the annual session, representatives of SDP BiH held a series of meetings with delegations from sister parties from the region and the EU. Discussions on the topic of joint action of the left, not only in BiH but also in the region, were particularly significant. On this occasion, talks were held with Sergei Stanishev, President of PES, as well as with the delegation of the Labour Party of Great Britain, led by Jeremy Corbyn.

It was stated that only together, with full cooperation with the non-governmental sector and the academic community, can the left defeat all those who rule today and fiercely fight against change, i.e., for the preservation of the status quo in our society. Support and cooperation on this issue, as well as concrete joint activities in the period ahead, were agreed upon.
