A partial solar eclipse was also visible in Sarajevo today, reaching its maximum at 10:43 AM. About a hundred astronomy enthusiasts came to the public viewing to witness this phenomenon through telescopes, writes the BH News Agency Patria.
In addition to the solar eclipse, the Moon is very close to Earth today, which is called a "supermoon" or perigee, and it is also the first day of spring, i.e., the equinox. Today, citizens witnessed the moment when the Moon passes between the Earth and the Sun, casting a shadow on the Earth's surface.
The next major solar eclipse visible from BiH will be in 2027, and in the last 500 years, nearly 150 partial and total eclipses have been observed from our region.
