Nenadić announces support for the work of the Office for the Fight against Corruption and Quality Management of the Sarajevo Canton

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - At the initiative of the Prime Minister of Sarajevo Canton, Mario Nenadić, a meeting was organized and held today with the head of the Office for the Fight against Corruption and Quality Management of the Sarajevo Canton, Erduan
Kafedžić.

This is already their second meeting, as the Prime Minister organized a working meeting of the newly appointed ministers with the heads of all professional services immediately upon taking office, among whom was Kafedžić, the Government of the Sarajevo Canton announced.

Prime Minister Nenadić praised the Office's activities at the very beginning of the meeting, expressing his satisfaction with the progress it has made from its establishment to the present day.

"I propose that immediately after the adoption of the Sarajevo Canton budget, which is currently the priority activity of the Government of the Sarajevo Canton, a special meeting be organized at which the Prime Minister and the head of the Office would inform all ministers in detail about the activities this office is conducting," said Prime Minister Nenadić.

He emphasized that at that meeting, support will be sought from the entire Government, as well as from each minister individually, for the further work of this Office. He also pointed out that this meeting will be an opportunity for the ministers to familiarize themselves with all ongoing processes and special projects, as well as the methods of their implementation.

Head Kafedžić fully agreed with Prime Minister Nenadić's proposal regarding the organization of this meeting.

"The meeting will feature an introduction of the ministers to the information system, i.e., the anti-corruption software, as well as all our other activities. Our goal is to improve cooperation and reach its highest professional level," Kafedžić stated.

He added that all members of the Government will then be informed about the obligations arising from the Law on Reporting and Verification of Data on Assets of Holders of Public Functions in the Sarajevo Canton, which relate to reporting existing assets and income, the origin and change of assets and income, as well as gifts received during the performance of a public function.

On this occasion, discussions were also held about upcoming processes and support plans from international organizations for the Government's fight against corruption.

"I have an obligation to thank you once again for the excellent cooperation from the time when I was the Minister of Justice and Administration of the Sarajevo Canton, when I actively participated in the formation of your office, its institutionalization, and staffing. I will contribute in every way to the further development of your capacities within the legally prescribed frameworks," Prime Minister Nenadić emphasized at the end of today's meeting, once again expressing words of gratitude, as he is the only elected official, i.e., representative of the authorities, who has received a certificate of appreciation for his contribution to the organization of the Office from its establishment to the present day.
