Nenad Nešić dismissed on January 28, Krišto failed to propose a candidate for BiH Security Minister within the legal deadline

(Patria) - Nenad Nešić was dismissed from the position of BiH Security Minister on January 28, and the legal deadline of 15 days within which the Chairwoman of the BiH Council of Ministers Borjana Krišto was supposed to propose another candidate has expired. The duties of the minister have been performed by Deputy Ivica Bošnjak (HDZ BiH) since Nešić's arrest.

Regardless of the fact that Krišto violated the Law on the Council of Ministers of BiH, no party has initiated a motion for her dismissal, nor has it sent a request for Krišto to propose a new candidate for Security Minister.

On the other hand, parties of the 'trojka' (three) are timidly stating that HDZ will have to decide which side to take, that of Milorad Dodik and SNSD, or BiH's European path.

The 'trojka' parties have initiated the dismissal of SNSD officials from the leadership of both houses of the BiH Parliament and the Council of Ministers. So far, only Nebojša Radmanović has been dismissed from the Collegium of the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliament on January 23.

Although an urgent session was held yesterday to consider SNSD's initiative for the reconstruction of the BiH Council of Ministers, specifically the dismissal of Elmedin Konaković, which received only five votes from the opposition from Republika Srpska, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Denis Zvizdić, stated that he will not schedule house sessions until the position of a member of the Collegium from the Serb people is filled. He called on authorized proposers to submit proposals.

While the 'trojka' parties (SDP, NS, NIP) are negotiating with the opposition from Republika Srpska for a new parliamentary majority, the number of votes brings them back to reality. The 'trojka' parties, NES, and Šemsudin Mehmedović have 14 votes, the opposition has five, which is not a sufficient majority for decision-making. SDA and DF have stated that they will vote for all dismissals, but not for appointments.

On the other hand, whoever proposes a candidate for the Collegium member does not have a guaranteed majority for election, and the votes of HDZ BiH are crucial.

A session of the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliament is scheduled for next week, where Nikola Špirić is allegedly to be dismissed from the leadership. However, given that he will be the Speaker at the time, and the submitted request refers to the first deputy and does not specify a name, in this case, it will be Kemal Ademović after the rotation in the Collegium, so it is questionable how this error will be corrected.

However, SNSD can block the quorum with three delegates by leaving the session or not attending. This is exactly what happened on February 5, when the first joint session of both houses of the BiH Parliament and the Council of Ministers was supposed to be held, and the session could not be held due to the lack of a quorum.

It seems that the political crisis that has been ongoing since January does not have a clear scenario for its resolution.
