Nenad Nešić was legally dismissed from his position as minister, it is not in HDZ's interest to fill this position

(Patria) - The decision on the dismissal of Nenad Nešić from the position of Minister of Security of BiH, dated January 28, 2025, was published in the Official Gazette of BiH on February 7, 2025.

According to the decision, he was dismissed at his personal request. The story that is clearly being released to the public for some reason about his "return" to the position of Minister of Security of BiH has no basis whatsoever.

The Ministry of Security of BiH received information from Patria that this is a spin, and given that the Ministry is led by HDZ cadre Ivica Bošnjak, that party has no interest in the position of Minister of Security being filled and would prefer this situation to continue until the next General Elections.

It should not be forgotten that the Chairperson of the Council of Ministers of BiH, Borjana Krišto, proposed Goran Selak for the Minister of Security in March, but he himself withdrew from further proceedings.

Krišto did not want to initiate the procedure for appointing Nebojša Vukanović as proposed by five parliamentary clubs in the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly, stating that there is no political agreement on this matter.

After his release from custody, where he spent almost half a year, Nešić was subjected to restrictive measures, and the Prosecutor's Office of BiH has not yet filed an indictment. He is suspected of taking bribes from companies to which tenders were awarded while he was the director of Roads of RS. Prosecutor Bojana Jolović stated during the hearing that he took one million KM in bribes.

The fact that the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly voted for Nešić's dismissal on January 23, and the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly did not confirm it, cannot be interpreted as opening the door for his return because he himself resigned, and Borjana Krišto dismissed him from his duties a few days later.
