NO LAW Proposed for dismissal of Košarac and Helez, appointment of generals of AF BiH on December 21

(Patria) - The session of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH is scheduled for December 21, which could be the last session of the year, considering the upcoming Catholic Christmas and New Year. Given the lack of agreement within the state coalition on some legal solutions insisted upon by the EU, it is difficult to expect anything significant to happen in the next ten days, but even if that happens, urgent sessions can be scheduled.

There are no laws on the agenda of the session, while initiatives for the dismissal of two state ministers, Staša Košarac and Zukan Helez, have been included on the agenda.

The initiative to dismiss Staša Košarac, Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH, was submitted by opposition representatives Mira Pekić, Jasmin Emrić, Vlatko Glavaš, Aida Baručija, Branislav Borenović, Mladen Bosić, Elvisa Hodžić, Nenad Grković, Šerif Špago, Darko Babalj, and Safet Kešo. In their explanation, they stated that Košarac was accused of domestic violence by his ex-wife Sanja Stanković, who spoke about it before the Investigative Commission of the House of Representatives of the BiH PA on Corruption and Judiciary. Although Stanković addressed the institutions, she did not receive protection, nor did her report receive a judicial epilogue.

The second initiative to dismiss Defense Minister Helez was submitted by eight representatives of the ruling coalition, all representatives of the Serb-majority entity's ruling parties. The initiative was submitted by Sanja Vulić, Obren Petrović, Nebojša Radmanović, Ljubica Miljanović, Milorad Kojić, Milan Petković, Miroslav Vujičić, and Čedomir Stojanović due to statements about alleged paramilitary formations in the RS area involving Russian citizens. They remind that Helez has already been convicted of giving false testimony, thus apparently repeating a criminal offense and creating an atmosphere of fear.

Also on the agenda is the Report of the Collegium Commission on efforts to reach an agreement on the request of MP Denis Bećirović to consider the Bill on the Supreme Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina under an urgent procedure.

The proposal of the Decision on the confirmation of the Decision of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the appointment of professional military personnel to formation positions for which the rank of general is foreseen in the Ministry of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina will be presented to the representatives. This concerns 13 appointments, and the new Chief of the Joint Staff of the AF BiH is Gojko Knežević.

The House of Representatives of the BiH PA should give consent for the ratification of the Grant Agreement (Corridor Vc Project in Republika Srpska – Doboj Bypass Project – Section: Rudanka – Putnikovo Brdo) between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, which relates to an investment grant from the European Common Fund for the Western Balkans.
