NO BAGS, DRONES: Lukač calls on citizens to respect MUP orders at celebration of unconstitutional RS Day

(Patria) - The Ministry of the Interior /MUP/ of Republika Srpska, on the occasion of the celebration of the unconstitutional January 9, is taking enhanced measures to maintain a favourable security situation in the upcoming period, and invites citizens of RS to come to Banja Luka and celebrate the Day of the Republic in peace and dignity, the MUP RS stated in a press release.

Citizens who wish to follow the ceremonial parade tomorrow at noon in Banja Luka are advised to respect the orders of police officers on the ground, and not to carry pyrotechnic devices or other dangerous objects.

Citizens are advised, for easier movement and to avoid creating crowds, not to carry backpacks and bags, and to have some form of identification document with them, the MUP RS announced.

With the aim of taking security measures regarding the upcoming holidays, the Minister of the Interior of Republika Srpska, Dragan Lukač, issued an order banning the transport of explosive materials in road traffic on the territory of Srpska, except for the transport of pyrotechnic devices for the execution of announced fireworks during both days of the weekend.

The Ministry at its headquarters, police administrations and police stations will not issue permits for the transport of explosive materials during these days.

For the safety of participants in the celebration of the unconstitutional January 9, traffic is banned for cargo vehicles with a capacity greater than 3.5 tonnes, except for cargo vehicles of public and utility services and vehicles that will be engaged in activities related to the celebration, today from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM and tomorrow from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM on all streets in the area of Banja Luka.

Exempt from this decision are Bulevar vojvode Stepe Stepanovića, Bulevar vojvode Petra Bojovića, Bulevar srpske vojske, Knjaza Miloša, Branka Popovića /eastern transit/, and the streets Manjačkih ustanika, Omladinska, Krajiških brigada /western transit/.

The press release also reminds that, for the safety of participants, the use of drones is banned on January 9 in the area of Banja Luka.
