NO FAVORABLE PENSIONS Police officers from RS in state agencies still discriminated against, government silent!

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Discrimination in the case of retirement of police officers working in state police agencies, who come from Republika Srpska, is still in effect.

The Alliance of Trade Unions of Police Bodies in BiH is fighting for police officers who reside in Republika Srpska, and who, unlike their colleagues residing in the Federation of BiH and members of the RS Ministry of Internal Affairs, are drastically harmed and discriminated against during retirement.

The problem lies in determining the average salary, which is a key factor determining the amount of the pension. For police officers of the Border Police, SIPA, DKPT who reside in the Federation of BiH, the average is taken from 5 years of service with the highest earnings.

The same method is determined for members of the RS Ministry of Internal Affairs by amendments to the Law on Police and Internal Affairs adopted by the National Assembly of Republika Srpska.

The Pension and Disability Insurance Fund of RS does not discriminate in any way, but applies the current regulations and stated in their letter to the Trade Union that they do not make changes to the regulations.

The Police Trade Union has also asked the Prime Minister of RS, Radovan Višković, to help resolve this issue, but they have not commented so far.
There are about 1020 police officers from RS working in state police forces, and an average of 20 retire annually.
The Law on Pension and Disability Insurance of RS clearly recognizes a police officer as a separate category from others, and in RS, these are only members of the RS Ministry of Internal Affairs and police officers at the level of the Ministry of Security of BiH residing in RS.
