Not enough representatives: SBB's caucus in the state Parliament of BiH dissolves

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - MP in the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH Damir Arnaut has left the Union for a Better Future of BiH (SBB) and will now act in the state Parliament as an independent MP, in accordance with Article 1.9 of the Election Law of BiH.

Arnaut stated that the SBB's announcement of filing a lawsuit against Jasna Duraković makes his continued membership in that party impossible.

„It is my duty to protect and advocate for human rights and fundamental freedoms, issues of primary political and public interest. In light of the announced proceedings against Mrs. Duraković, I am withdrawing from SBB membership and acting within the framework of those duties,“ Arnaut added.

However, with Arnaut's departure, the Mixed Caucus of SBB – PDA MPs also dissolves, as after Arnaut's exit from the SBB, the caucus consists of Edita Đapo (caucus chair) and Mirsad Kukić. Namely, a caucus can be formed by at least three representatives. To create favorable conditions for participation in the activities of the House, caucuses of representatives are entitled to official premises, financial resources, administrative, technical and other working conditions, as decided by the Joint Committee on Administrative Affairs. 

Incidentally, the SBB is in government with the SDA and DF, as well as the SNSD and HDZ. They also hold a ministerial position held by Fahrudin Radončić. The SDA has nine representatives, and the DF, after Enver Bijedić's departure from the SDP, has four MPs in its caucus.
