Nelson - Čović: Government must not be blocked

US Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina Eric Nelson met today with the Deputy Speaker of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina and leader of HDZ BiH Dragan Čović. During the conversation, Nelson stated that "the formation of the FBiH government, election integrity reforms, and state functions must not be blocked and should continue to proceed in parallel".

"The Ambassador met today with the second Deputy Speaker of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dragan Čović, to convey that showing seriousness on the EU path means dialogue and action on limited but significant improvements to the Election Process, judicial integrity, and the rule of law," it was announced on the official Twitter profile of the US Embassy in BiH.

It was emphasized that "the formation of the FBiH government, election integrity reforms, and state functions must not be blocked and should continue to proceed in parallel".

The leader of HDZ also announced on Twitter that he met with the US Ambassador.

"With Ambassador Eric Nelson on the urgent need for full implementation of the Mostar Agreement and on amendments to the Election Law of BiH, which remains a high prerequisite for our EU membership in 2021, as well as all other 14 European Commission priorities," Čović wrote.
