(Patria) - On the occasion of the 29th anniversary of the genocide in Srebrenica, the alliance of Bosnian-Herzegovinian associations in Austria "Consilium Bosniacum" organized the traditional March of Peace in Vienna again this year.
The March of Peace procession began at Christian-Broda Square and ended at Heldenplatz (Heroes' Square) in Vienna, where a public gathering was also held.
The March of Peace was joined by Sevlid Hurtić, Minister for Human Rights and Refugees of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Robert Laimer, Member of the Austrian Parliament, Ćamil Duraković, Vice-President of the Bosnian Serb entity Republika Srpska and a genocide survivor, Ernst Woller, President of the Viennese Parliament, and via video link Mr. Miro Lazović (former President of the Assembly of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina).
Participants of the March of Peace carried banners saying "Don't forget Srebrenica 11.07.2024.", flags of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the Srebrenica Flower.
This year, 14 identified victims of the genocide will be buried in the Potočari cemetery.
