Then and Now: Halilovićs in their own words entered into government with liars, idlers and schemers

The new coalition formed on July 31, consisting of SDA-BPS-SBiH-A-Sda with the support of HDZ BiH, was supposed to ensure a new majority in the FBiH Parliament. However, by all accounts, that majority will not materialize.

However, the fact that the SDA-BPS coalition was formed in a very strange and unnatural way is evidenced by the statements of BPS leaders, father and son Sefer and Semir Halilović, who accused Bakir Izetbegović, the president of SDA, of everything imaginable, writes the BiH news agency Patria.

It is known from before that Sefer accused the late president of RBiH, Alija Izetbegović, of being a traitor.

Halilović the younger once said that "the murder of the Chief of Staff of the Army of RBiH, General Sefer Halilović, could only have been ordered or approved by Alija Izetbegović, and Bakir Sadović was involved in the details of the entire operation against Halilović. As for Bakir Izetbegović, to this day, when it comes to merits, he always places himself in the position of 'first next to Alija'. Well, then, if he says so, let him carry that title when it comes to responsibility. Personally, I am only interested in the real culprits."

However, on the other hand, Halilović himself has clearly forgotten that he previously referred to Alija Izetbegović in his texts as intellectually potent, mentioning a few other people alongside him, such as Rusmir Mahmutćehajić, Ejup Ganić, Hasan Čengić, Haris Silajdžić.

- Whether you agree with their policies or not, their knowledge cannot be denied. Today's SDA has been reduced to ordinary idlers and/or schemers whose primary characteristic is lying, followed by all sorts of fraud, which can be testified by anyone who has ever had any dealings with them – Halilović wrote.

In one of his media appearances, he called Izetbegović an upstart and a war deserter.

- It is not nice that, in the absence of personal courage, he puts women and various 'Muslimovići' in front of him to defend him, just as he used to push other people's sons to die for the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which he 'defended' by sitting in his father's office. And tell him, also, to take off his 'skirt' – he previously told Izetbegović the younger.

Sefer Halilović stated in an open letter that Alija Izetbegović betrayed and sold Srebrenica. He often used the terms old and senile when describing him.

- What do you know about warfare, my Alija, when you even spent your military service on a farm in Vojvodina, and the war from 1992 to 1995 in a vault.

However, it is interesting that despite such statements, Izetbegović agreed to a coalition that seems to have fallen apart before it even came together.

We remind you that just a month before signing the coalition, Semir Halilović stated in an interview for the media that BPS had been offered several times to be part of the government, which they refused, considering that the government should be coordinated and synchronized from higher to lower levels of government.

- We believed that there should be no bypasses with other parties, especially not with BPS, which has a considerably different view on the situation in BiH compared to SDA. That is why we let them form the federal government, and they should now resolve the government crisis themselves – Halilović said at the beginning of June.

He concluded at the time that the government crisis in the Federation was caused by earlier agreements on the distribution of power between SDA and HDZ, and "whoever enters this yoke will be crushed."

What has changed from the beginning of June until today, other than proving that they are fond of power, the Halilovićs have not explained, nor was Izetbegović willing to explain how bitter a pill he had to swallow to sign a paper with a man who has been brutally attacking and belittling everything that both Alija and he himself have done for 20 years.
