GENOCIDE DENIERS STILL UNBOTHERED: Prosecutor's Office of BiH Indicts Samir Nukić for Inciting National Hatred

(Patria) - A prosecutor of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH filed an indictment against Nukić Samir, born in 2002 in Bihać, a citizen of BiH.

The accused is charged with, in the middle of last year, during the commemoration of the tragic deaths of eight children in Vitez, who were killed in 1993 by a grenade explosion on a playground, after a visit by the High Representative to the monument to the killed children, through public posts on the social network "Meta-Facebook" from a user account with an associated and identified ID number, from his mobile phone and his user number, directing curses and expressions of hatred towards the deceased children of Croatian nationality, and after warnings from other users of the social network, repeatedly uttering curses and insults against the victims again.

In this manner, the accused caused distress to Ivan Garić, who is one of the survivors and whose sister and brother were killed in the said event, and who is the founder of an association dedicated to the deaths of the eight children in Vitez, as well as to other persons, for whom the disputed hate speech, which was available on the social network and other media, caused anxiety and discomfort due to the aforementioned comments and statements of the accused.

The accused is charged with publicly inciting violence or hatred directed against a group of persons based on their national or ethnic affiliation, thereby committing the criminal offense of Inciting National, Racial and Religious Hatred, Discord and Intolerance under Article 145a, Paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The indictment has been forwarded for confirmation to the Court of BiH.

Incidentally, no indictment has ever been filed for genocide denial, despite numerous reports submitted to the Prosecutor's Office of BiH.
