Negative population growth in FBiH continued in the second half of 2016.

In the first six months of 2016, positive population growth was never recorded in FBiH. The number of deaths was far greater than the number of births for all six months of this year, writes Patria.

Negative natural growth continued in the second half of this year.

The Federal Statistical Office published data showing that from January to June this year, 8,541 children were born in FBiH, and 10,444 people died. Therefore, the number of deaths is 1,903 higher than the number of births.
In July, 1,567 babies were born, but 1,608 people died, which means the negative growth continues in the second half of 2016.

Given that a large number of young people also leave Bosnia and Herzegovina annually due to the difficult economic situation in the country, it is clear that the population of Bosnia and Herzegovina is constantly declining, writes Patria.
