Criminal charges and calls for resignation don't help: Rimac causes headaches for the 'trio', how to solve the appointment of the KCUS director

(Patria) - The months-long tug-of-war between the Provisional Management Board of KCUS and the Federal Minister of Health, Nediljko Rimac (HDZ 1990), still has no final epilogue.

Minister Rimac has not been giving consent to the appointment of KCUS General Director Ismet Gavrakapetanović since December, and KCUS has been managed by acting directors since November.

First, it was Dr. Alen Pilav, and then from the end of May, Dr. Hajrija Maksić. However, the Municipal Court in Sarajevo cannot register the responsible person because the decision on the new acting director was again made by the Provisional Management Board of KCUS, which was not the previous practice. In this case too, Rimac avoids announcing a competition for the appointment of the KCUS Management Board.

A criminal complaint against Rimac was filed by the president of Narod i Pravda, Elmedin Konaković, whose party was supposed to get the position of general director. Konaković reported Rimac for abuse of official position and negligent work in office, and the KS Prosecutor's Office is acting on the case.

Gavrankapetanović is still the director of the General Hospital "Prim.dr. Abdulah Nakaš".

While the tug-of-war over the appointment of the general director continues, Rimac is also being called to account by Naša stranka, which is part of the government, due to the shortage of medicines for oncological patients.
“Years-long problems with medicines needed by oncological, but also other patients, are not an excuse for Minister Rimac's negligent attitude towards patients, but also towards representatives who asked and expected him to start solving this problem. We call on him to act responsibly, conscientiously, and professionally in his duty and insist that, in accordance with the Rules of Procedure, he appears at the next session and answers the questions of the representatives. We call on him to urgently take all necessary actions and secure the missing medicines or to resign. It cannot remain like this, because the Naša stranka Club will not be an accomplice in something that is escalating into a crime against our most vulnerable citizens.

We do not accept any excuses for this unacceptable situation, which have been coming from the ministry frequently these days, for the simple reason that the same medicines are available in Republika Srpska," stated Naša stranka on Friday.

They call on HDZ 1990, from which Minister Rimac comes, but also all other coalition members, not to tolerate the irresponsible and negligent attitude towards public duty of their appointed officials, especially not at times when citizens are paying dearly for their negligence and inaction with their health, and even their lives.

The FBiH Government is composed of the parties of the 'trio': SDP, NIP, Naša stranka, HDZ BiH, Ramo Isak with Snaga naroda, and HDZ 1990. The narrow majority in the House of Representatives of the FBiH Parliament depends on the three votes of HDZ 1990, as well as one from HNP, which is why the dismissal of Nediljko Rimac is not being initiated yet.

According to Patria's information, the Federal Prime Minister and President of SDP BiH, Nermin Nikšić, has started looking for a "replacement" for these votes, and contact has already been made with representative Almedin Aliefendić, who officially left SDA.
